Which level of Child Protection training do I need?LEVEL 1 (Basic Awareness) For 'those who come into contact with children in the workplace.' If you come into contact with children through your working environment you should be trained to at least our level 1. This will give you a basic awareness of safeguarding children within your work place. You will also learn how to respond, what to say, what not to say, how to record and report and understand how you feel.
==================================================================== LEVEL 2 - (Advanced) For 'those who work with children.' Once a level 1 course has been completed you may want to go on to gain an an advanced safegurading knowledge. Our level 2 course will help you with this, giving you a good grounding in what to do when situations are brought to your attention. You will learn about inter-agency work, and the process that is followed should a referral be made. The course also helps you to develop a working child protection policy for your organisation.
==================================================================== LEVEL 3 - (For Designated Senior Staff) For 'those who hold a particular responsibility for safeguarding children within their organisation.' This course is aimed at Designated Senior staff, managers, headteachers, bursars and governors and will help you understand safeguarding in relation to the designated person. You will learn about inter-agency work, and the process that is followed should a referral be made. The course also helps you to develop a working child protection policy for your organisation. You will also learn about safer recruitment and how to recruit with safeguarding in mind, how to conduct an interview and surrounding material.
