This CPD Certified course is a must for anyone who works with children. An ideal one day introduction to the basics of child protection. The workshop looks at what child abuse is, how to spot potential signs of abuse, how to respond if you are worried about a child and the steps that can be taken to safeguard their welfare. CPD Certified certificate awarded. Who is this course for? Anyone who works with children: for instance, project workers, youth departments, youth programmes, family support, hostel workers, child minders, parent and toddler groups, play groups, workers in the community, church leaders, volunteers and teachers… in fact anyone who wants to understand the importance of child protection awareness.
Course Benefits Provides an introduction to child protection helping you to recognise potential abuse and know what to do if you believe a child is at risk. The course aims to define child protection, looks at the different types and signs of abuse including neglect and provides information on responding, recording & reporting strategies. It also looks at: how to make your working environment safe for children, including safe practices; who to approach or report to; what actions to take and which legislation applies in this area; an introduction to ‘Every Child Matters and understanding your role and feelings. This CPD Certified course is for those who have already completed a Level 1 course and need to gain an advanced knowledge of Child Protection, including working towards becoming a Designated Person or Child Protection Officer, manager or policy writer. CPD Certified certificate awarded.
Course Benefits
The course will help you to recognise potential abuse and know what to do if you are worried about a child. It aims to take a deeper look at child protection issues, signs of abuse and neglect and provides advanced information on reporting strategies, policies and procedures. It also covers: Safe environments, safeguarding practices, reporting and referring to external agencies, legislation and its relationship to day-to-day activity. The course includes a step-bystep toolkit to help you work towards good practice including staff and volunteer recruitment, child protection and human resources policies. Level 3 - Child Protection for Designated Persons CourseThis CPD Certified course goes beyond levels 1 and 2. After completing levels 1 and 2, this premier level 3 course builds on your knowledge and is particularly useful for School designated senior staff, head teachers, managers, bursars, governors, senior staff, 'those responsible for safeguarding children within their organisation' or for recruiting staff and volunteers safely. The workshop focuses on a review of current knowledge, legislation and regulation, multi-agency working, safer recruitment and the selection checklist, the Independent Safeguarding Authority and safeguarding adults. Buffet lunch provided. CPD Certified certificate awarded. Course Benefits Promote safe practice and challenge poor and unsafe practice. Identify instances in which there are grounds for concern about a child’s welfare, and initiate or take appropriate action to keep them safe. After completing the level 3, this CPD Certified Optional Day 2 Master
Class gives you a chance to explore your role as a Designated Person
more fully and
to spend more time working through and digesting your level 3 knowledge
whilst asking the tutor questions. The master class is particularly
useful for School designated senior staff, head teachers, managers,
bursars, governors, senior staff and NHS, 'those responsible for
safeguarding children within their organisation' or for recruiting staff
and volunteers safely. Have you completed our level 3 course and not
sure which course to do next? The new Level 3 Optional Day 2 Master
Class is for you. This Master Class is targeted at those who have
completed a level 3 course within the last two years and is not a
