How often do I need to re-do my Child Protection Officer Level 3 course?

by Andydo
(Essex, UK)

Generally, the Child Protection Level 3 course should be taken every two years. Some organisations prefer their Child Protection Officer or Designated senior teacher to be re-trained every year. This is because legislation can change on a year by year basis and the organisation prefers their staff to have the most up to date information. This is a good point.

The Graffham Consulting Ltd CP level 3 course is CPD Certified and follows the guidelines of the Local Safeguarding Children Boards. Check out the dates on our website or call us on 01992 613780 for more details.

In summary, it is always best to check with your particular organisation for their requirements when you are asking how often do I need to re-do my Child Protection Officer Level 3 course?

The level 3 every two years for Designated Persons
by: Anne

Ok, so every two years for the level 3, but best practice is every year because things change so quickly. I agree, the Designated Senior Person needs to be up to date. I'm also interested in the Optional Day 2 Practical Scenarios Masterclass. I'm looking for beyond level 3 in order to get even more insight and experience.

How often should the courses be taken? I've got it now, thanks!
by: John

I'm hearing you here, normally the Child Protection Level 3 class should be taken every couple of years. This is because legislation can alter on a year by year basis. I can see the importance of this, thanks.

Also, I want to go with best practice in order to get the latest info. I'll get the Child Protection training I need. I'll see you on the other side of the booking form! - thanks again!
